The Toronto Maple Leafs saw their nine-year playoff streak come to an end this season, but they can add a building block for the future with a win in Tuesday's NHL Draft Lottery.
The Maple Leafs enter the lottery with the fifth-best odds to win the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, with an 8.5 per cent chance. Those odds will change for the second lottery based on the results of the first.
However, if a team lower than the Maple Leafs wins the lottery and moves ahead of them, Toronto will need to transfer its first-round pick to the Boston Bruins to complete the Brandon Carlo trade.
